Officers investigating assault with a weapon on Elm Street

Shortly before 2:25 am on January 24, 2026, officers responded to a disturbance at a fast-food business on Elm Street. Information provided was that an altercation had taken place inside the restaurant and that one individual was seriously injured.
Officers arrived on scene and located a 22-year-old, man who had sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital by Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services.
Based on the investigation, it is believed that two individuals were involved in a verbal argument inside the restaurant when one individual left and returned with a knife. A physical altercation took place that led to the young man being cut with the knife. The individual responsible for the attack fled on foot prior to police arrival.
The individual responsible is described as a man, in his 20’s, around 5’10” tall with black hair and he was wearing a black coat at the time of the incident (image attached).
