On April 30, 2026, detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury. Detectives located a vehicle associated to the individuals on Paris Street and took three people into custody. Based on the investigation, detectives had applied for and been granted a Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant for a residence on Regent Street.

As a result of a search of the vehicle and individuals incident to arrest and the search warrant executed at the residence, detectives located and seized 39 grams of cocaine, 29 grams of fentanyl, 31 hydromorphone pills, 58 buprenorphine pills, 12 methamphetamine pills, and $5,150 in cash. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $7,750.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old, woman, a 39-year-old, man and a 65-year-old, woman, all from Greater Sudbury, have been charged with the following offences under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x4
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Two of the individuals were released with a first appearance court date of July 30, 2026, to answer to the charges. The 36-year-old, woman was held for Bail Court as she was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. Their names cannot be released as the information has not yet been sworn to through the court process.
