Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision Involving Pedestrian on Paris Street

Just before 7:00 am on February 27, 2026, the Greater Sudbury Police Service responded to a call in the area of 1720 Paris Street regarding a hit‑and‑run collision involving a pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was struck in the northbound lane of Paris Street by a vehicle that fled the area before police were contacted.
Paris Street remains closed at Indian Road and Maki Avenue while members of the Integrated Traffic Safety Unit and the Identification Unit continue their investigation. The road closure will remain in place for an undetermined period, and motorists are asked to use alternate routes.

Anyone with a dash camera who travelled on Paris Street between 6:30 am and 7:00 am on February 27, 2026, is asked to review their footage and contact the Integrated Traffic Safety Unit at 705‑675‑9171 ext. 2421 with any relevant information.
