Officers arrest three individuals after weapons complaint in Val Caron

Around 6:15 am on November 2, 2025, officers were dispatched to a weapons complaint outside a residence on Municipal Road (MR) 80 in Val Caron. Information provided was that three individuals were outside a residence with a firearm.

Officers attended the area and upon seeing police, the individuals fled on foot. Two of the individuals, a 52-year-old, man and a 44-year-old, woman were immediately taken into custody by police. The third individual fled into the bush.

While on scene, officers located a bag where the individuals were originally seen prior to fleeing police. Upon opening the bag, officers located a shotgun.

Members of the Emergency Response Unit and K9 Unit attended the area to conduct a track for the third person. While conducting the track, officers received information that the individual was inside a residence on Percy Avenue. Members of ERU and the K9 Unit set up containment of the residence while detectives from the Major Crime Section applied for and were granted a warrant to enter the residence.

Around 11:25 am the 37-year-old, man exited the residence and surrendered to police without incident.

37-year-old, Dustin Chauvin, 52-year-old, Timothy Therrien and 44-year-old, Liane Scott have been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime
  • Trafficking a Firearm, Weapon, Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

All three individuals will attend Bail Court today, November 3, 2025, to answer to the charges.
