Officers respond to workplace fatality on Dominion Drive in Hanmer

Shortly after 8:15 am this morning, September 18, 2025, officers were dispatched to a workplace incident at a residence on Dominion Drive in Hanmer. Information provided was that a contract worker was trapped beneath an excavator.
Members of the Integrated Traffic Safety Unit and Criminal Investigation Division are working in collaboration with the Coroner’s Office and the Ministry of Labour as this incident is being investigated as a workplace fatality.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
