(COCHRANE, ON) - One person sustained minor injuries following a float plane crash on Lillabelle Lake.
On Thursday, May 21, 2026, at approximately 11:40 am, members of the James Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a float plane crash in the Cochrane area.
The investigation determined the aircraft experienced mechanical issues before crashing into the lake. The lone pilot sustained minor injuries, was able to safely exit the aircraft, and was rescued by nearby co-workers.
