FATAL COLLISION CLOSES HIGHWAY 11 IN SMOOTH ROCK FALLS

(SMOOTH ROCK FALLS, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal multi vehicle collision on Highway 11 near Smooth Rock Falls.
On Saturday, March 7, 2026, at approximately 5:30 am, members of the Cochrane Detachment of the OPP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving multiple vehicles with injuries on Highway 11 between Red Pine Road and Lookout Road in Smooth Rock Falls.
Upon arrival, officers determined that five vehicles were directly involved in the collision. An additional three vehicles were involved in a secondary collision in the area.
One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second person sustained severe but non life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
Members of the Cochrane OPP continue to investigate the incident with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
