(MOOSONEE, ON) - The James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver in connection with an impaired driving investigation involving an individual travelling from Moose Factory to Moosonee.

On January 28, 2026, at approximately 11:45 am, the James Bay OPP responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver en route from Moose Factory to Moosonee. A short time later, officers located the vehicle in Moosonee.

Officers initiated a traffic stop and determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Moosonee OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Eric SOLOMON, 35 years of age, of Moosonee, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to comply with probation order - two counts
  • Driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 3, 2026 in Moosonee. Additionally, the driver was issued a 90‑day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).
