COLLISION ON HWY 417 RESULTS IN DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGES
(OTTAWA, ON) - Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have laid drug trafficking charges against an individual from Mississauga after they were involved in a collision.
Shortly before 4:00 pm on December 1, OPP members were dispatched to a collision on Highway 417 westbound near Maitland. One of the drivers involved was arrested at the scene for Careless Driving. A search of the vehicle was conducted and resulted in officers seizing a large quantity of drugs.
As a result, Jayden DUNKLEY, 21 years of age, faces the following charges:
- Possession over 30g dried cannabis in a public place
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid (other then heroin)
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Careless driving
The accused is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa at a later date.
