NOVICE DRIVER FACES IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES
(OTTAWA, ON) - Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving charges against an individual from Ottawa.
Shortly after 8:00 am on November 14, OPP observed the individual attempting to purchase alcohol at a local gas station. The officer suspected the individual to be under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening device was utilized and the individual was taken back to Ottawa Detachment for further testing. The driver registered more than twice the legal limit.
As a result, George DRYSDALE, 30 years of age faces the following charges:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused, who had a G2 licence, received a 90-day driving suspension and had his vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa at a later date.
