IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED LEAVING A RESIDENCE AFTER A FIGHT

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) - Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving a call for service regarding a disturbance near County Road 30 in Verulam.
On Sunday August 31, 2025 at approximately 9:10 pm, officers were dispatched to a fight in progress, while enroute they were notified of the parties departing the residence. A pick-up truck was located on County Road 30 and a traffic stop occurred after the pick up truck turned onto County Road 8. The driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences.
Jordan Peters, 33-year-old of Trent Lakes, was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and Drug
- Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
- Drive Motor Vehicle No Licence
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
