KIRKFIELD SINGLE VEHICLE FATAL COLLISION UNDER INVESTIGATION

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) - Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a single motor vehicle collision that took place around 7:00 am, on Satruday, March 7, 2026.
City of Kawartha Lakes OPP along with Kawartha Lakes fire and Kawartha Lakes EMS were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Elm Tree Road between Star Road and Riley Lane in Kirkfield. Upon arrival a 51-year-old female of Kirkfield was transported to a local area hospital and was later pronounced deceased because of her injuries.
Elm Tree Road is closed between Star Road and Riley Lane while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
