(PICTON, ON) - Officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged their sixth impaired driver for the month of October.

On Thursday, October 30, 2025, around 3:00 am, officers were conducting a RIDE program in Picton, when a motorist approached officers.

An approved roadside alcohol screening device was utilized. As a result, the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

James MAW, age 33 of Picton, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on November 26, 2025.The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
