Individual Identified, No Foul Play

(TYENDINAGA MOHAWK TERRITORY, ON) - Human remains, discovered earlier this year in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, have been identified.

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, officers of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the discovery of human remains at a location near Highway 49, between Old Highway 2 and Lower Slash Road.

The deceased was male from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, who would have been 69 at the time of his death in 2019.

The investigation, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Tyendinaga Police, has concluded that there was no foul play involved in the death.

The individual’s name and other personal details are not being released out respect for the deceased and his family.
