ROAD RAGE INCIDENT RESULTS IN CRIMINAL CHARGES

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) - An individual is facing multiple criminal charges following a road rage incident that escalated into a collision in Prince Edward County.
On Friday, May 15, 2026, shortly before 11:30 am, officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision at the intersection of County Road 3 and Loyalist Parkway. The investigation began after a driver reported being struck from behind by another vehicle.
It was determined that both vehicles had been travelling westbound on County Road 3 when a series of aggressive driving behaviors occurred, including tailgating, brake checking, and unsafe passing. The incident escalated when the suspect vehicle intentionally struck the rear of the complainant’s vehicle.
Officers attended the scene, and as a result of the investigation, the suspect was located and arrested.
Jeffery SEMPER, age 72, of Carrying Place, has been charged with:
- Dangerous operation
- Failure to remain at the scene of an accident
- Assault
- Mischief under $5,000
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
