(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a break and enter that occurred in Temiskaming Shores during the early morning hours of May 14, 2026.

On May 14, 2026, shortly before 2:00 am, officers from the Temiskaming Detachment of the OPP responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Lakeshore Road.

The investigation determined that three individuals forcibly entered the residence. During the incident, an altercation occurred inside the home, and occupants were physically confronted. One individual was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested:

  • Ryan Carlson, 38 years old, of Kirkland Lake
  • Jason Benson, 42 years old, of Otto Township
  • Steven Goldrick, 44 years old, of Englehart

All three accused were charged jointly with the following offences under the Criminal Code:

  • Robbery with intent - section 344(1)(b)
  • Assault with a weapon - section 267(a) (two counts)
  • Break and enter a place to commit an indictable offence - section 348(1)(b)
  • Disguise with intent - section 351(2)
  • Mischief under $5,000 - section 430(4)

Additionally, Jason Benson was also charged with failure to comply with probation order - section 733.1(1)

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury at a later date.

The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Services, Emergency Response Team, and Canine Unit.
