(BLIND RIVER, ON) - A youth was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a snowmobile collision on an OFSC trail.

On Friday, March 27, 2026, at approximately 6:45 pm, the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single-snowmobile collision on Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) Trail D, south of Lake Duborne, within the Town of Blind River.

The snowmobile left the trail and struck several trees. Officers accessed Trail D via Kahles Road from Highway 557 and attended the scene by snowmobile. The youth was transported off the trail and taken to hospital in Blind River by Algoma Paramedic Services.

The investigation determined the 13-year-old driver was unlicensed. As a result, the driver was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for No licence - Drive upon public trail.
