(MISSISSAUGA FIRST NATION, ON) - A driver has been charged after entering a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check in Mississauga First Nation.

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, at approximately 9:00 pm, the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative at the intersection of Village Road and Park Road in the community of Mississauga First Nation when a black pickup truck entered the checkpoint.

The driver failed to produce a valid driver’s licence and as a result a query was conducted and revealed that the driver was operating the vehicle while prohibited. Consequently, the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Hunter CHIBLOW, 25 years old, of Mississauga First Nation, was charged with: Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 7, 2026.
