FATAL COLLISION CLOSES HIGHWAY 48 IN SUTTON

(SUTTON, ON) - One person is deceased as a result of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 48 in Sutton.

On June 13, 2025, just before 9:00 am, the Aurora Detachment Highway Safety Division (HSD) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a dump truck and a passenger vehicle at Highway 48 and High Street.

The lone driver of the car a 31-year-old man, from Georgina, was pronounced at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Highway 48 will remain closed between Park Road and Ravenshoe Road, for the next several hours.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
