(Brampton, ON) Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) - Highway 407 Detachment are investigating motor vehicle collision that resulted in one fatality.

On Wednesday July 7, 2025, at 4:53 am, the Highway 407 OPP responded to a collision on Highway 407 Eastbound, East of Mississauga Rd, in the City of Brampton. A black Honda Civic rear-ended a commercial motor vehicle.

The driver of the Honda Civic, a 31-year-old from Toronto, was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with critical, life-threatening injuries. He has since succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased in hospital.

The driver of the commercial motor vehicle was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved.

Highway 407 Eastbound lanes from Mississauga Rd to Mavis Rd were closed for the investigation.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
