(MISSISSAUGA, ON) - The Mississauga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a collision on Highway 401 in Mississauga.

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, at approximately 8:15 pm, members of the Mississauga Detachment were dispatched to a collision involving three motor vehicles on the eastbound collector lanes of Highway 401 near Mississauga Road.

The 78-year-old female passenger from North York was taken to a trauma centre where she was later pronounced deceased. The driver of that vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

All eastbound collector lanes of Highway 401 were closed at Mississauga Rd. for the investigation, with assistance from the OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) team. All lanes reopened around 4:00 am on May 31, 2026.
