(PERTH EAST, ON) - Four people are injured following a collision involving a motor vehicle and horse and buggy in the Township of Perth East.

On December 15, 2025 the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Perth County Paramedic Services, Perth East Fire Department, and Waterloo Regional Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 116 near Perth Line 72 near Wellsley.

Just before 4:30 pm a vehicle stuck a horse and buggy carrying four passengers. All passengers of the buggy sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local trauma centre. One of the passengers was later transported by Ornge Air Ambulance to another trauma centre for life threatening injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle was uninjured.

Perth Road 116 was temporarily closed as the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team assisted with the investigation. Resources have cleared the area and the road has since been reopened.
