IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED IN NORTH PERTH

(NORTH PERTH, ON) - One person has been charged for driving while impaired following a traffic stop in the Municipality of North Perth.
On March 9, 2026, shortly after 10:30 am, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle passing unsafely on Perth Road 164 near Perth Line 90 in the Municipality of North Perth. A traffic stop was initiated and upon further investigation police determined that driver had consumed alcohol and demanded they provide a sample of their breath into an Approved Screening Device (ASD).
The driver, 23-year-old Troy Kerr of Mount forest, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation while Impaired - Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while Impaired - Alcohol
- Dangerous Operation
The accused was released from custody, scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 13, 2026. The accused is also facing a 90-day drivers licence suspension, 7-day motor vehicle impoundment as well as tow and impound fees.
