STUNT LEADS TO IMPOUND AND CHARGES

(PERTH EAST, ON) - Two people have been charged following a traffic stunt in the Municipality of North Perth.
On May 8, 2026, at approximately 8:40 pm an off-duty police officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a large plume of smoke on Perth Road 169 near Perth Line 84 from what they believed to be a motor vehicle collision. Upon investigating, the officer observed two motor vehicles performing a stunt, spinning their tires on the roadway creating excessive smoke and noise before departing the area.
On May 15, 2026 members of the Perth County OPP charged the two adult male drivers under the Highway Traffic Act with Drive motor vehicle - Perform stunt. Both of their vehicles were impounded for 14 days and drivers licences suspended for 30 days.
Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, ON, on June 23, 2026 to answer to their charges.
