STOP-TRAIN IN EFFECT FOLLOWING MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

(WEST PERTH, ON) - A single motor vehicle collision with a train bridge has resulted in train traffic being stopped in the Municipality of West Perth
On June 4, 2025 the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 145, south of Perth Line 34 at the Goderich-Exeter Railway (GEXR) bridge. The bridge sustained damages that required trains to be stopped until repairs are completed.
Perth Line 145 will be closed between Perth Line 34 and Perth Line 32 for approximately one week. There is no estimated time for when the stop-train will be lifted and the bridge will be re-opened.
As a result of the police investigation, a 47-year-old, male resident of Stratford has been charged with the following offence:
Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
