(DUFFERIN COUNTY) - Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Acton resident with impaired driving-related offences following a traffic investigation conducted over the Victoria Day long weekend.

On May 18, 2026, at approximately 10:45 am, officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were flagged down in the area of County Road 24 and County Road 109 in the Township of East Garafraxa regarding a traffic complaint involving a possible impaired driver. Officers were able to locate the vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, officers initiated an impaired driving investigation

As a result of the investigation, Percy HUSTLER, a 41-year-old male from Acton, has been charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Fail to yield to traffic on through highway
  • Fail to surrender insurance card
  • Driver fail to surrender licence
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date to answer to the charges.

In addition, the individuals’ driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle was impounded.
