ORANGEVILLE RESIDENT ARRESTED AS OPP EXECUTE WARRANT

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) - Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one individual and seized prohibited weapons following the execution of a search warrant in the Town of Orangeville.
On May 28, 2026, shortly after 5:30 am, members of the Dufferin OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Nottawasaga CSCU, Collingwood CSCU, and Dufferin B Platoon, executed a search warrant at a residence on Montgomery Boulevard.
As a result of the investigation, one individual, who is currently on a weapons prohibition, was arrested. Officers also seized several prohibited weapons, removing them from the community.
As a result of the investigation, Edward ALEXANDER, a 52-year-old male from Orangeville, has been charged with:
- Failure to comply with prohibition order (two counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Mischief - obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon (two counts)
The following items were seized:
- Three prohibited knives
