CHARGES LAID STEMMING FROM A VALENTINE'S DAY HEAD-ON COLLISION

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) - Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Grimsby resident with impaired operation-related charges following a two-vehicle collision on Airport Road.
On February 14, 2026, at approximately 2:58 am, Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to the area of Airport Road and 5 Sideroad in the Township of Mulmur for a two-vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, officers observed two heavily damaged vehicles. The driver of one vehicle was outside and walking around, while the second vehicle had sustained significant damage, requiring fire services to extricate all five occupants.
After speaking with the driver of the first vehicle, officers initiated an impaired driving investigation.
Shamar FOSTER, a 23-year-old male from Grimsby, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
- Dangerous operation
The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. His driver’s licence was suspended, and his vehicle was impounded.
