On May 14, 2026, members of the Nipigon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located the vehicle and trailer involved in the fail-to-remain collision that occurred in Mansfield. After officers deployed a spike belt, the suspect fled from police and entered a wooded area. Officers conducted an extensive search of the area and were ultimately able to locate the suspect and take him into custody.
