-UPDATE 1- DUFFERIN OPP INVESTIGATING A SERIOUS THREE VEHICLE COLLISION IN THE TOWNSHIP OF MELANCTHON
(DUFFERIN COUNTY) - Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside Dufferin County Paramedic Services and local fire departments, responded to a serious three-vehicle collision in the Township of Melancthon.
On April 24, 2026, at approximately 11:55 pm, emergency crews were dispatched to the area of Highway 10 between County Road 17 and 280 Sideroad following reports of a collision.
Dufferin OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) are assisting with the ongoing investigation, and the roadway remains closed at this time.
As a result of the crash, one male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while another male was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. As of 11:00 am, the male transported to the trauma centre is now in stable condition. Updates will be provided as they become available.
The driver and passenger of the third vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
