ORANGEVILLE RESIDENT REMOVED FROM DUFFERIN COUNTY ROADS AFTER REGISTERING OVER TWICE THE LEGAL ALCOHOL LIMIT

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) - The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Hamilton resident with impaired driving-related offences following a traffic stop.
On November 13, 2025, shortly before 11:00 pm, officers on general patrol in the area of Fifth Avenue in the Town of Orangeville observed a vehicle strike a curb while attempting to enter a parking lot. Officers then initiated a traffic stop.
During the interaction, officers observed signs of impairment, and an impaired driving investigation was initiated.
David POWER, a 44-year-old male from Orangeville, has been charged with the following offence:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
- Careless driving
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence has been suspended, and the vehicle has been impounded.
