(DUFFERIN COUNTY) - Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Shelburne resident with impaired operation-related offences following a motor vehicle collision (MVC).

On November 29, 2025, just before 10:30 pm, Dufferin OPP officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the area of County Road 11 and 5 Sideroad in the Township of Amaranth.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the drivers, who were being assessed by paramedics, and subsequently initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Pratheeb UTHAYAKUMAR, a 36-year-old male, from Shelburne has been charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Dangerous operation
  • Pass on right - not in safety

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.
