ARREST MADE AFTER SNOWMOBILE COLLISION

(BROCKTON, ON) - On December 29, 2025, at approximately 2:53 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a snowmobile without lights driving in the town of Walkerton.
Officers made patrols, where they located a crashed snowmobile in the area of Bruce Road 19 and Concession 2 NDR; the operator fled on foot. Police contained the surrounding area with the assistance of OPP Canine and the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT). The involved individual was located shortly after 6:00 am and was taken into custody after a brief struggle, which included the accused grabbing the officer’s holstered firearm.
Anthony DILLON, 40-years-old, of Huron-Kinloss, was charged with:
- Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)
- Resist peace officer, CC 129(a)
- Disarming a peace officer, CC 270.1(1)
- Operation while prohibited, CC 320.18(1)(a) - two counts
- Possession of a schedule I substance, CDSA 4(1)
The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
