PROACTIVE PATROLS RESULT IN STUNT DRIVING CHARGE

(BROCKTON, ON) - South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a driver travelling at dangerously high speeds during proactive patrols in Brockton.
On Monday, March 9th, at 8:14 am, South Bruce OPP members of D Platoon were conducting proactive patrols along Bruce Road 20 in the Municipality of Brockton when a vehicle was observed travelling at 149 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
The vehicle was stopped, and the driver, a 19-year-old from Campbellville, was charged with the following offences under the Highway Traffic Act:
- Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt
- Speeding 149 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone
- Obstruct plate
A 30 day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and a 14 day vehicle impoundment were initiated, with the driver facing a future court date.
