FALSE REPORT LEADS TO CHARGES

(KINCARDINE, ON) - On June 14, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an alleged assault at a business location in Kincardine.
Officers attended and took information from the complainant, alleging they had been assaulted by a store employee. Further investigation and review of security camera footage showed that an assault never occurred, and the complainant had stolen from the business.
Aanchal PATEL, 22-years-old, of the Municipality of Kincardine has been charged with:
- Public mischief, CC 14(1)(a)
- Theft under $5000, CC 334(b)
The accused is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on August 27, 2025, to answer to the charges.
