(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) - A break and enter leads to two people arrested and charged.

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, at approximately 4:30 pm, the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter in progress on Marquis Road. Two persons were observed entering the property and going through outbuildings. Both parties fled on foot into the wooded area prior to police arrival.

The first person was located a short time later and arrested by uniform members. The second person was located with the assistance of the Northeast Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit. The second person was transported to a local hospital by the District of Timiskaming Social Services Administration Board Paramedics for treatment of cold related injuries. The person was released from police custody at the hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

As a result of the investigation, Dwight LEGACY, a 59-year-old, from Kirkland Lake was arrested and charged with break and enter a place - commit indictable offence.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice on June 11, 2026.

Additionally, Brendan LEGACY, a 32-year-old, from Kirkland Lake was arrested and charged with break and enter a place - with intent to commit indictable offence.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice on June 11, 2026.
