(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) - A motorist travelling nearly 70 km/h over the posted speed limit on Highway 112 has been charged with stunt driving.

On July 28, 2025, at approximately 11:30 am, a Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting traffic patrol on Highway 112 when they observed motorist travelling 148 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

Police conducted a traffic stop and as a result, a 28-year-old from Toronto was charged with drive motor vehicle- perform stunt- excessive speed.

The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and the accused is scheduled to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice in September.
