MVC LEADS TO IMPAIRED AND DANGEROUS OPERATION CHARGES

(FORT FRANCES, ON) - Members of the Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.
On Friday, April 24, 2026, officers from the Fort Frances OPP responded to a single‑vehicle collision on Kings Highway. The vehicle had left the roadway, striking and damaging a streetlight, a hydro pole, and a fire hydrant. Following further investigation, officers determined that the driver had been operating the vehicle while impaired.
As a result, Christopher MORRISSEAU, age 46 of Couchiching, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Dangerous operation
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
