PROHIBITED DRIVER ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED

(FORT FRANCES, ON) - Members of the Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of Treaty Three Police Service have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.
On Saturday, May 9th, 2026, officers from the Fort Frances OPP responded to a report of an impaired driver. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. Following further investigation, officers determined that the driver was a prohibited driver and had been operating the vehicle while impaired.
As a result, Lindsay COPENACE, age 43 of Fort Frances, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
