YOUTH ARRESTED IN DRUG TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION

(Fort Frances, ON) - A joint drug trafficking investigation resulted in an arrest and charges for a young offender from Southern Ontario.
On May 21, 2026, the Rainy River District Detachment Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) working with the Treaty Three Police Service, the OPP North West Region Intelligence Unit, and the Kenora OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau conducted a drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Fort Frances.
A 16-year-old offender from London Ontario was arrested and investigators seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine worth an estimated $12500.
The name of the accused is being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The accused is charged with one count of possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of failing to comply with a sentence or disposition. The accused was held in custody by police and is scheduled to appear next on May 25, 2026, in Fort Frances Youth Court for a bail hearing.
