A Guelph man and woman face trafficking-related charges after officers seized nearly $10,000 worth of cocaine from a Willow Road apartment Friday.

Guelph Police Service officers acting on information from another police service executed a search warrant Friday morning. Two people were found inside a locked bedroom, where officers also located cocaine, several digital scales, nearly $2,000 in cash and a collapsible baton.

Prior to the search, someone in another bedroom in the same apartment had thrown a quantity of cocaine and a cellphone out a window, with them landing close to officers watching from below.

A 37-year-old Guelph man and 29-year-old Guelph woman are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. The man is also charged with possessing proceeds of crime and three counts of breaching a release order.

The woman will appear in court May 22. The man was held for a bail hearing Monday.
