A Guelph man faces several charges after a Guelph Police Service officer was bitten Wednesday afternoon.
Approximately 12:45 pm police were called to a west-end neighbourhood after reports a man had used a chainsaw to cut down a For Sale sign on a neighbouring property. Investigation revealed the involved man was already wanted for mischief and other charges related to a dispute with a different neighbour.
The man was located and placed under arrest. At the police station he was combative and bit an officer on the forearm.
A 52-year-old Guelph man is charged with assault police, criminal harassment, two counts of mischief under $5,000 and uttering threats. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
