Plate reader catches suspended driver

A Cambridge man was charged and had his vehicle impounded following a traffic stop in Guelph Tuesday.
Just before 1:30 pm a Guelph Police Service officer was patrolling on Whitelaw Road when the cruiser’s automated licence plate reader detected a vehicle associated to a suspended driver.
The vehicle was pulled over in a parking lot and the driver determined to be a suspended driver. He also was unable to provide proof of insurance.
A 21-year-old Cambridge man is charged with driving while suspended and failing to have an insurance card. His vehicle was impounded for seven days.
