A Guelph man was arrested after a police officer was bitten during an altercation Wednesday afternoon.
Just after 3 pm officers were dealing with a man downtown when a physical altercation began. While officers were attempting to arrest the man he bit an officer on the thigh, breaking the skin. The officer was transported to hospital for treatment.
A 40-year-old Guelph man is charged with assaulting a police officer causing bodily harm. He will appear in court June 23.
