A Guelph man faces charges after he was caught Monday evening inside a north-end home.
At 9:15 pm police were called to an address near Victoria Road North and Dakota Drive. The caller, who owns the house, reported she had video footage of someone breaking into the vacant home. The suspect is known to the homeowner.
Officers entered the house and located a man hiding in the basement.
A 42-year-old Guelph man is charged with break and enter and two counts of breaching a probation order. He will appear in court March 6.
