A Guelph woman faces charges after a neighbour reported someone breaking into their home armed with a brick last month.

On April 19, just before noon, officers were called to a home near Kortright Road West and Ironwood Road. The caller said a neighbour had smashed a large window and gained entry to the home, confronting the victim while wielding a brick. The victim fled the house but was followed on foot by the suspect. The two are known to each other.

On Thursday afternoon a 66-year-old Guelph woman was arrested for mischief over $5,000, assault with a weapon and break and enter. She will appear in court July 17.
