Arrest for breaching conditional sentence

A Guelph man was arrested Monday after he was caught breaching a sentence of house arrest.
On March 5 the man was handed a conditional sentence for assault with a condition he remain inside his residence at all times. Just before 11 am Monday he was spotted in a plaza at Speedvale Avenue and Woolwich Street. The man tried to leave the area when he spotted a cruiser but was stopped and arrested.
A 43-year-old Guelph man is charged with breaching a conditional sentence. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
