Arrest in recent bike thefts

A Guelph man faces charges related to several recent bicycle thefts.
On April 11, a man reported his Trek mountain bike had been stolen from outside a business on Silvercreek Parkway North. The theft was caught on security cameras and police were able to identify the suspect.
On Wednesday morning officers executed a search warrant at an address on Speedvale Avenue East and arrested a man. Following investigation officers connected the suspect to two other recent stolen bicycle reports.
A 24-year-old Guelph man is charged with theft under $5,000, two counts of possessing stolen property under $5,000, trafficking stolen property and wearing a disguise while committing an offence. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
