A Guelph woman is charged with arson after several fires were set outside a downtown church Monday evening.

Approximately 6:20 pm police were called to Church of Our Lady, where they found and extinguished four separate small fires in a garden area. Witnesses pointed out the suspect, who was arrested as she attempted to leave the area.

A 37-year-old Guelph woman is charged with arson, mischief under $5,000 and breaching a probation order. She was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
