Assault, mischief charges after disturbance

A Guelph woman faces assault and mischief charges following a disturbance Wednesday afternoon.
Approximately 1:20 pm police were called to a supportive housing residence. Staff reported a client had become enraged and tried to attack staff by throwing glass jars at them. She also smashed jars all over the house and caused an estimated $1,000 in damage to a door trying to access a staff area.
The woman was located in her bedroom and arrested.
A 21-year-old Guelph woman is charged with assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, uttering threats and breaching a probation order. She was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
